Re-opening Plans for Office Locations

Catholic Charities office locations have been temporarily closed to clients, but staff have been helping to fulfill requests by telephone and email. Counseling services have also continued by phone. Staff will be available in-person as soon as office are altered to keep staff members and clients safe.

“My biggest concern is keeping everyone safe,” said Jean Johnstone, Executive Director. “I’ve met with a general contractor to design protective areas for each office.  We will use movable plexi-glass shields where possible and put in solid shields at each check-in window.  I am also gathering all the supplies they will need - masks, gloves, sanitizers for hands and surfaces, etc.”

“Fortunately, donors recognize that the pandemic and statewide shut-down is creating enormous need and new financial burdens for many of our neighbors,” Jean continued. “I am grateful for the generosity of our supporters. These contributions are helping us to help people now and in the future as moratoriums are lifted on evictions and utility shutoff.”

Gifts to Catholic Charities to provide help and hope to neighbors in need can be made online or mailed to the Altoona office at:
